Come rain, come shine
Ever optimistic, the July group assembled in the dappled sunlight under the magnificent eucalyptus tree in Jed’s garden for some plein air portraiture –
a first for the Club.
All went well for the first hour but true to form, the grey clouds crept up and eventually decided to deposit their unwelcome load on sitter and artists alike.
So we all set up again, this time in a rather crowded dining room where our obliging model sat through the rest of the session, slightly damp but still wearing the same hat from our earlier attempt in the garden. In actual fact the session went really well and some excellent work was produced. It could be that some of it will be on display at the Club’s Annual Exhibition next month so keep your eyes open for familiar faces in the portrait section of the show.
And of course if you’d like to try your hand at one of the Club's sessions, simply contact John Washington for details – new members always welcome.
