One of the strengths and attractions of Budleigh Salterton is its High Street and local businesses. In this time of crisis, many of the businesses have diversified and changed arrangements to ensure the people of Budleigh and the surrounding area can still get provisions and access to services.
These businesses need the support of the town to survive.
Budleigh Salterton Town Council, in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce, has compiled a list of businesses that are continuing to trade and offer services.
This crisis will see many people in Budleigh and the villages struggle financially.
Budleigh Community Support Fund and Exmouth Food Larder are there to help. Both organisations would also appreciate donations:

Exmouth Food Larder food donation points at the Co-op, Spar and Pynes Farm.
Due to lockdown, this list will be largely circulated electronically through the various networks in the town. Please feel free to pass the information on to others, or to contact the Council offices if you know of someone who would benefit from a printed copy.
If you are aware of any omissions/changes/errors to the information below, do please contact the Town Council Offices:

A competition for members
at home during the coronavirus outbreak
The restrictions imposed on our Art Club due to the Covid19 outbreak mean we’ll be unable to hold regular meetings, classes and workshops for the foreseeable future. Budleigh’s Gala Week has also been cancelled which means that our Bank Holiday One-Day Show will not be taking place.
To help members continue their creativity and to get together ‘virtually’, we have organised an online project that we hope you’ll join.
The theme is ‘Through the window’.
Wherever you normally work at home, it’s likely that your desk, easel, table or worktop is near a window so we’re running a Club competition for members to submit an interpretation of the view from their window.
Whether you live in a flat, cottage, semi, mansion or work in your garden shed, there will be a view from a window that’s worth submitting. Any medium is allowed and judging will be on artistic merit, not subject matter - you may look out on to a brick wall, a back yard, a lovely garden, a main road, the countryside or the sea – it really doesn’t matter.
Your submission will be made online by e-mail – some simple details about yourself and your entry with a photograph of your artwork as an attachment – it’s as simple as that. Work will be shown in an online gallery on the Club’s Website and winners posted on our Facebook page.
Entries need to be in by Tuesday, 19th May so they can be judged and displayed online from 25th May, the day when our One-Day Gala Week Show would have been held.
*During the lead-up to the exhibition, you may wish to share and show progress of your work on our Facebook page so others can see what you’re doing.
For members without access to online facilities, they will be contacted separately with information for entry.
We hope you’ll join in and enter this competition which goes some way to make up for the cancellation of our Gala Week exhibition. If you have any queries, please
e-mail BSAC2020show@gmail.com and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can with answers.
* Our Facebook Page can be accessed by typing “Budleigh Salterton Art Club” into your Facebook search bar. Near to the top of our page you will see a post announcing this Competition. You can share and show progress of your work, by clicking “Comment”. Then type a few words (name, title, etc.) and use the camera icon to upload a photo into your comment.
