Alasdair brings Tresco to life
This month’s Club Meeting featured a superb talk and demonstration by Alasdair Urquhart.
Working from a preparatory drawing with referenced annotations, Alasdair’s work was subtle and thought provoking.
He worked up a painting started in Tresco, taking a high perspective looking out over the harbour, light dabs of colour, building to an impressionistic response to a place he knows intimately well.
An amazing work produced in such a short space of time was inspiring and no doubt members will follow suit and attempt to practice some of the things learnt during the morning. If you’d like to see more of Alasdair’s work, please visit his website: www.alasdairurquhart.com
A delicious members’ lunch followed shortly afterwards and it was a real pleasure to see our president, Alan Cotton and his wife Tricia amongst the busy tables.
Our thanks to Lisa and her team for organising this and in particular to Mandy Butcher for producing such a wonderful spread.
