Plien Air workshops july 2020
july 18&19 and 25&26...
While still awaiting the re-opeing of the Chudleigh town hall to resume my postponed workshops from March-June, I have decided to hold several plain airsketching and painting workshops on Dartmoor. This is a perfect way to get back to painting again while still observing the government's health guidelines on social distancing etc.
The course will consist of;
1. Learning to see the landscape like an artitst by making sketchbook drawings: simplefied and "storytelling".
2. Learning to evision your painting before beggining to paint.
3. Making plain air paintings.
You can come for either one day or two. The course will run from 10am to 4pm.
The fee is £60 per day

James Tatum, landscape artist and good friend of the art club has just
posted an online exhibition of work done during the current lockdown.
My Lock Down Paintings. Three months Wandering in the Taddiforde
‘Like most of the world at present, I have spent the last three months
close to home. I have been walking and sketching in the Taddiforde
Valley neat the University of Exeter every day.
It is a tiny woodland and small stream (the delightfully named Taddiforde
Brook) in the heart of urban Exeter. In the beginning I was drawing just
to keep my eye in during lockdown, but as time went on, I was surprised
to learn that even a small landscape can be an inexhaustible resource
for painting. The 15 paintings in this online exhibition are the result of
those daily walks.’
