Online Exhibition

James Tatum, landscape artist and good friend of the art club has just
posted an online exhibition of work done during the current lockdown.
My Lock Down Paintings. Three months Wandering in the Taddiforde
Valley (Exeter).
‘Like most of the world at present, I have spent the last three months
close to home. I have been walking and sketching in the Taddiforde
Valley neat the University of Exeter every day.
It is a tiny woodland and small stream (the delightfully named Taddiforde
Brook) in the heart of urban Exeter. In the beginning I was drawing just
to keep my eye in during lockdown, but as time went on, I was surprised
to learn that even a small landscape can be an inexhaustible resource
for painting. The 15 paintings in this online exhibition are the result of
those daily walks.’

Inspiration in
competition...

Here’s a painting in water soluble oils by Mo Hill inspired by our Through the window competition.
Unfortunately it wasn’t finished in time to enter which is understandable considering the amount of detail that’s included but we love the content , observation and atmosphere of the scene.
