Budleigh Salterton Art Club Summer Exhibition takes place at the Public Hall and starts on Friday 18th August, with a preview evening for members, their guests and dignitaries from Budleigh. It's a great evening where members artwork is on display for all to see. Our judges this year are Alan Cotton, John Hammond and Simon Ripley who will be judging six categories between them.
Our Exhibition Secretaries have now received all completed forms from members who are exhibiting. There is a total of 87 artists submitting work and there will be 290 pieces of artwork on display which includes Don Papworth, who has just recently celebrated his 100th birthday.
The exhibition is then open to the public from Saturday 19th August until Bank Holiday Monday 28th August from 10am - 6pm and finishing at 4pm on Bank Holiday Monday. We will be serving tea, coffee and lovely homemade cakes made by members of the art club. Entrance is free. Our exhibition is known to be a very friendly affair and it's so nice for members and the public to meet up socially. There will be a raffle and proceeds from the raffle will enable us to make a donation to our chosen charities for this year, which are Muscular Dystrophy and Budleigh Salterton and District Hospice Care. This years raffle prize has been donated by our Chairman Ralph Bingham, which won the May Cup as the publics favourite during this years one day show in May.
